Chapter 41: Ling Xiaoxiao
“Breathe in.”

“Breathe out.”

Wei Feng practiced the breathing technique for an hour, and felt that the square shape of [Spirit World] was transforming into a sphere.

Since he had just began his practice, the change was obvious.

Then, Wei Feng practiced Thunder Bird’s Forging technique.

When the electricity in his body lingered, [Hammer of Forging] activated, infusing countless of tiny little hammers into his blood; beating and hammering.

His whole body turned numb, like he was being pricked by countless needles. The pain was unbearable for him.

Amidst the pain, Wei Feng remembered the quote: He who wants to master martial arts needs to endure unbearable pain.

That quote could not have been truer.

The people who succeed and break through in this world have endured far more pain than ordinary people.

The body forging technique was also practiced for an hour, and Wei Feng continued his breathing exercises.

Just like this, he went back and forth between Wolf King’s and Thunder Bird’s training methods until two o’clock in the night. He then went to bed.

He slept soundly.

The next morning.

At seven o’ clock, Wei Feng was abruptly woken up.

The low roar of a luxury vehicle could be heard downstairs.

Wei Feng peered from his window.

Three limousines that are six metres long donning a triangular logo on the front of the car was parked downstairs.

A man-in-black walked to the middle car and opened the door – a tall woman wearing perfectly ironed white pants, an off-white shirt, and a small black coat draped over her shoulders stepped down.

Without a doubt, Wei Feng knew they were looking for him.

It’s an intuition!

They walked into the building, and Wei Feng got up and left his room and walked to his unit’s door to wait for them.

Three minutes later, sure enough, he could sense they were at the front of his door.

Just as one of the men-in-black wanted to knock, the door suddenly opened.

He was stunned, then glanced at Wei Feng who was standing at the door.

The woman then spoke, “Ah! Mr. Wei! Forgive me for disturbing you so early in the morning!”

Wei Feng smiled and turned around, “Come in. Let’s talk.”

The men-in-black were about to escort her inside, but was stopped by Wei Feng. “I remember only inviting her to come inside.”

“You little-“

One of the men was about to get angry, but the woman quickly said, “All of you. Wait outside.”

The men glared at Wei Feng, but stepped aside and let the woman in.

The woman swiftly walked in, and Wei Feng closed the door.

“Please sit.”

Wei Feng walked into the living room and threw aside Jiang Haiyan’s pile of clothes on the sofa, and asked, “What would you like to drink? We only have boiled water here.”

The woman smiled. “A glass of water it is then.”

Wei Feng went to pour a glass of water. The woman glanced at the things around the room – when she saw Jiang Haiyan’s clothes scattered on the floor, her brows wrinkled.

Jiang Haiyan’s door opened.

She was dressed in pyjamas; her hair was messy. She walked to the kitchen was yawning.

Just as she was pouring a glass of water to drink, she suddenly noticed the woman sitting on the sofa and was stunned.

She thought she was dreaming and pinched herself. She then rubbed her eyes and took a closer look at the woman on the sofa.

“Oh my god! President! It’s the president!”

Jiang Haiyan was shocked. Wei Feng, who had just poured a glass of water, found the expression on her face was exceptionally wonderful.

Jiang Haiyan ran to her room with a speed that could rival Usain Bolt, and closed the door with a loud bang.

Wei Feng put the glass down. “Don’t mind her, she hasn’t woken up yet.”

Judging by the woman’s expression, Wei Feng noticed she wasn’t surprised. It seemed that she knew Wei Feng and Jiang Haiyan were living together.

“My name is Ling Xiaoxiao, the current president of Yancheng Angel Mall.” Wei Feng then understood that this was the woman who Jiang Haiyan spoke to the other day on the phone.

“I see.”

Wei Feng nodded, “What are you here for then?”

Ling Xiaoxiao raised her eyebrows and said bluntly, “I want to hire you as my personal bodyguard. Your wage is 30000 yuan per day.”

“Bodyguard?!”

Wei Feng was a little surprised. He didn’t expect this.

“Yup!”

Ling Xiaoxiao nodded.

At this time, Jiang Haiyan rushed out of her room, donning a professional suit.

She quickly came to Ling Xiaoxiao and asked respectfully, “President! What are you doing here this early in the morning?”

Ling Xiaoxiao glanced at her, and said coldly, “I wasn’t looking for you today.”

“Oh.”

Jiang Haiyan was stunned, then looked at Wei Feng. She put two and two together, then turned around and returned to her room.

Ling Xiaoxiao’s eyes fell on Wei Feng, and offered, “I will provide food and accommodation too, including food for your royal beasts.”

“Oh.”

Wei Feng felt like he was cornered into accepting this deal.

Spirit Power was not the same as IQ. He felt completely helpless by the other party.

Wei Feng simply smiled, “Seems like you came here fully expecting me to accept the deal.”

Ling Xiaoxiao’s mouth twitched slightly, revealing a dimple. There wasn’t a lot of makeup on her face – she was a natural beauty.

Such beauty that would make one’s heart flutter.

Wei Feng estimated that she was younger than Jiang Haiyan, maybe 20 years old.

“Before I came here, I had a little bird collect some of your personal information,” she then took out a small black box from her pocket and placed it on the table. A projection then appeared.

Wei Feng’s mouth twitched.

She did her research on him.

Even his blood type and hobbies he didn’t know he had was investigated.

Her eyes fell on Wei Feng, “Of course, some of this information may be inaccurate – but seeing you now in flesh and blood with my own eyes… I don’t need this information at all. I want to hire you.”

Seeing that Wei Feng was speechless, she continued, “You have no reason to not accept my offer – you’re broke. Your expenses on royal beast food are at least 8000 yuan per day, not including yourself, so within a few days…”

“Enough!”

Wei Feng interrupted her. He didn’t like hearing people sharing his personal information.

There’s no doubt that Wei Feng would accept this offer, but he needed to understand the terms and conditions before agreeing.

If she is willing to pay such a high price for him to be her bodyguard, then she must be in danger.

He should be very cautious.

“I accept, but…”

He stared at Ling Xiaoxiao. “I need to know the conditions behind this deal.”
